Where to Get Real Italian Gelato in the Rio Grande Valley

Gelato and ice cream are not the same thing, and once you've had the real, small-batch kind, it's hard to go back. Here's what to know, and where to find it in the Valley.

Gelato vs. ice cream

Gelato has less butterfat and less air churned into it than ice cream, so it's denser and more intensely flavored. It's also served a touch warmer, which makes it softer and silkier on the spoon. Less air, more flavor, that's the whole difference.

Why small-batch matters

Small batches mean fresher gelato and flavors that actually taste like the thing they're named after, pistachio that tastes of pistachio, not green sugar. Our case rotates through pistachio, stracciatella, nocciola, café, cookies & cream, mango sorbetto, and fragola.

How to order it

By the scoop (one, two, or three) or, the move, two scoops in a bubble waffle cone. Italian roots, South Texas soul, in downtown McAllen.

Come pick a flavor (or three) on Main Street.
