Iced vs. Hot Matcha: Which Should You Order?
Same whisked green, two completely different moods. Here's how to choose, and what changes the moment the ice hits.
Hot matcha: the ritual
Hot matcha is grassier, more delicate, and a little sweeter up front, you taste the whole arc of the tea. It's the meditative one: whisked to a jade froth, sipped slow, best on a cool morning or when the matcha itself is the point.
Iced matcha: the everyday
Over ice, matcha turns crisp and refreshing, and the cold rounds off the grassy edge, which is why iced is the gateway most people fall for. Add oat or pistachio milk and it drinks like a green latte you'd order twice. It's also the base of our La Patria: matcha, strawberry, oat milk.
So which one?
New to matcha? Start iced with a little milk. Chasing the real, ceremonial flavor? Go hot and unsweetened. Somewhere in between? An iced matcha latte splits the difference perfectly.
Whisked to order, hot or iced, on Main Street.
