What Is Cold Foam?
Cold foam is the silky, cloud-like top you see on a good iced coffee. It's made cold, not hot, and it's built to sit on an iced drink without melting into it right away.
How it's made
Cold milk is aerated until it turns into a light, pourable foam with no heat involved. Because it's thicker than milk but lighter than whipped cream, it floats on top of an iced drink and slowly blends in as you sip.
Cold foam vs. whipped cream
Whipped cream is rich, sweet, and sits on top like a dessert. Cold foam is lighter and less sweet, and it mixes into the coffee as you drink, adding texture without turning your coffee into a milkshake.
What to put it on
It's best on iced coffee, cold brew, and nitro, and it pairs well with a light drizzle or a flavored variety. Give it a gentle stir halfway through for a smoother finish.
